(Ages 2, 3 & 4)
Introductory ballet and tap combination classes for our youngest dancers. The emphasis at this age and level is on creative movement, learning basic elements of dance and developing coordination skills in a structured, nurturing and fun environment.
Kinder is a combination ballet and tap class for beginner dancers who are a little bit older. It is an extension to our pre-school levels with more emphasis on building a strong foundation in dance with more advanced steps and techniques to learn.
Combination tap and jazz classes offered to all ages 6 and up. Level placement is determined by your age and dance experience. The students will learn tap & jazz steps, technique and terminology as well as learning choreography in both genres.
Introduces young children to the fundamentals of classical ballet, focusing on proper body alignment, basic ballet technique, terminology, and musicality.
(Age 8+) A classical form of expressive dance characterized by grace and precision of movement as well as elaborate formal gestures, steps & poses. Ballet is the foundation subject for all other forms of dance and is designed to develop a dancer’s strength, technique & flexibility. This class will consist of barre work, center floor, across the floor progressions & choreography.
(Age 11+ - by Teacher Discretion) It is part of the classical ballet technique in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet through the use of pointe shoes. This class will consist of similar elements to a ballet class with the use of pointe shoes and pointe work at the barre, center floor and progressions. It is for the more experienced ballet dancer therefore acceptance into this class is by teacher discretion.
(Ages 7+ - Ballet Required)
A highly technical and expressive style of dance that fuses ballet technique with jazz and contemporary movement to interpret the lyrics of the music. This is an elective class that will focus on technique, flexibility, improvisation and choreography. Ballet background is recommended.
(Ages 10+ - Ballet Required)
An expressive style of dance that combines technical elements of modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Characterized by its versatility and improvisation, it can be performed to any style of music. Allows dancers to push new boundaries and create new ways of moving the body. This is an elective class for the advanced dancer and will focus on technique, flexibility, improvisation and choreography. Ballet background is recommended.
Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music. Often distinguished by its “freestyle” nature it also includes a wide range of styles including breaking, locking, and popping. This is an elective class that will focus on learning the different hip-hop styles as well as choreographed and freestyle movement.
(Currently offered to ages 3-12)
Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. This is an elective class for young beginners and will focus on basic floor gymnastic skills, strength and conditioning, coordination, stretch & balance.
This class that promotes the strengthening of the dancer’s core, flexibility, agility and stamina in order to execute various technical elements needed to become an advanced level dance. Non-revue based.
This class designed to breakdown and refine the technique behind various leaps and turns in order to learn how to properly execute them in choreography. Non-revue based.
(Company Members Only – Ages 6+)
This is our competitive level combination tap and jazz class consisting of the same elements of the Combo levels above but taught at a more accelerated rate in order for the team to remain successful in the competitive environment. You must be a member of the competition team to be placed in a Challenge class.
